We are a grassroots organization formed in opposition to the 2021 South Hunterdon Regional School District referendum, which has since broadened our focus beyond just facilities questions. Our core beliefs include:
- That educational quality, curriculums, and quality of teaching are far more important than pouring money into shiny new buildings.
- That facilities upgrades need to be considered in a fiscally responsible manner that is appropriate to the very small size of our district. We are not Hopewell!
- That the Board of Education needs to be 100% transparent with district residents on a range of issues.
- That the referendum plan presented to the public was a poor one with incredible problems from a financial, security, resident impact perspective. Put simply, this plan really bad.
- That the Board of Education undertook a year-long PR campaign to sell this referendum to the public, in violation of a number of NJ State laws.
- That the Board of Education knowingly withheld vital information about the Lambertville Public School and West Amwell School from the public.
- That the Board of Education illegally electioneered and canvassed voters using district resources funded by tax payer dollars.
- That there are better plans out there that will improve facilities, improve our kids’ educational outcomes and test scores, and not break the bank.
