On January 5th, 2022, the judge hearing the elections contest case signed an order setting up early timelines around the contest. The full order is available here:

The important aspect of the order is this part:
“The South Hunterdon Regional School District is enjoined from issuing any bonds, notes, or other debt pursuant to the public referendum while this matter is [sic] election contest is currently pending before the Superior Court“.
This means that the school district cannot try to fund the referendum until this matter is taken care of in court.
